First NSAR Newsletter appears on April Fools Day! |
OK, I know what you are thinking. Is it mere coincidence that The Cut Newsletter makes its first appearance on April 1st? April Fools Day? Isn’t this a newsletter that is going to be sent out to a group of athletes who are regarded as the crazy or insane section of the athletic world? What other day could such a publication be started on though, right? I wish I could say we stayed up late planning it but alas it would not be true, it was merely happen chance, or is it an omen? I suppose it is like Joey on friends would say ‘ it’s a moo point’ right? Here are a few famous April Fools Day hoaxes taken from Wikipedia. |
Left Handed Whoppers: In 1998, Burger King ran an ad in USA Today, saying that people could get a Whopper for left-handed people whose condiments were designed to drip out of the right side.
Metric time: Repeated several times in various countries, this hoax involves claiming that the time system will be changed to one in which units of time are based on powers of 10. Breast Exams by Satellite: In the 1990s, Portuguese national television network RTP announced the Ministry of Health would perform free breast exams by satellite, causing thousands of women to go out topless.
